The PDPA requires us to identify a lawful basis for each purpose for which we process your personal data. Our purposes and lawful bases are:
| Purpose | Lawful Basis Under PDPA |
|---|---|
| Customs documentation — preparing export declarations for Chinese Customs (GACC) and import entries for TRA / Tanzania Customs and Excise | Legal obligation — PDPA s.22(1)(c): required by Tanzanian and Chinese customs law |
| Freight and tracking services — processing your booking, tracking Cargo, coordinating with Carriers, and delivering status updates | Contractual necessity — PDPA s.22(1)(b): necessary to perform the freight contract with you |

We do not use your personal data for any purpose incompatible with the above without first obtaining your separate, explicit consent.
We share your personal data only with parties who genuinely need it to provide or support our services. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
4.1 Customs authorities (mandatory). We are legally required to submit your name, ID/passport number, and shipment details to:
This sharing is a legal obligation and cannot be refused.
4.2 Third-party Carriers and freight partners. We share shipment data and, where operationally required, identification data with shipping lines, airlines, port operators, and cargo handling agents transporting your Cargo.
4.3 Partner agents in China. Where we work with partner agents or consolidators in China, we share the data necessary to prepare export documentation and manage the Cargo at origin.
4.4 Customs clearing agents in Tanzania. Where we facilitate customs clearance, we may share your data with a licensed clearing agent.
4.5 Professional advisors. We may share data with lawyers, auditors, or insurers where necessary for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or insurance purposes.
4.6 Law enforcement and regulators. Where required by a court order or competent authority under applicable Tanzanian law.
Our services involve transferring personal data from Tanzania to the People's Republic of China — and potentially other transit countries — for customs and operational purposes. This is inherent to an import freight service from China to Tanzania.
Under sections 31 and 32 of the PDPA, we may transfer personal data outside Tanzania only where:
You may withdraw this consent at any time (see clause 8). However, because data transfer to China is operationally essential, withdrawal will mean we are unable to continue processing your Shipments. We will inform you of this consequence before you exercise this right.
We retain your personal data for 7 years from the date your Shipment is completed or your account is closed — whichever is later. This period is based on Tanzania Revenue Authority record-keeping requirements under the Tax Administration Act, 2015, and general limitation periods under the Limitation Act, 1971 (Tanzania).
After this period, your data is securely deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Where the law requires retention for longer — for example, during ongoing legal proceedings or a regulatory investigation — we will retain your data for as long as is legally necessary.
We apply the following security measures:
No electronic transmission or storage method is completely secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the PDPC as required by the PDPA and Regulations.
Under the PDPA and the Personal Data (Collection and Processing) Regulations, 2023, you have the following rights:

We will respond to all rights requests within 30 calendar days of receipt. Exercising your rights is free of charge in all ordinary circumstances.
Note on consent withdrawal for cross-border transfers: As explained in clause 5, withdrawing consent to data transfer to China means we will be unable to continue providing freight services. We will explain this to you before processing your withdrawal.
